Joan Salvat-Papasseit
Spain (1894—1924)Catalan poet Joan Salvat-Papasseit began his career writing political and social articles, later collected in Glosas de un socialista and Humo de fábrica. In 1917, he founded the magazine Un Enemic del Poble, through which he expressed his political and literary ideas. In 1919, he published the manifestos Sóc jo que parlo als joves and Concepte de poeta, followed in 1920 by Contra els poetes amb minúscula. Primer manifest català futurista. Also in 1919, he published Poemes en ondes hertzianes, illustrated by Joaquín Torres-García and Rafael Barradas. He went on to found the avant-garde magazine Arc-Voltaïc and direct Proa.
