Josep Maria Junoy i Muns

Spain (1887—1955)
After spending few years in Paris, selling art books, Junoy worked as a journalist, caricaturist and poet. His work was influenced by Apollinaire and back in Spain, he collaborated with several reviews and magazines. To him is attributed the creation of the first calligram Guynemer or Oda in Guynemer, which contributed to bring the avant-garde to Catalunya. He founded and directed the magazine Troços in 1916, merging Cubist and Futurist influences. He escaped Franco’s revolution until in 1940 his journalist licence was withdrawn (returned to him only years later).
