Corrado Govoni

Italy (1884—1965)

Govoni published his first collection of poems, Le fiale, at the age of 19, inspired by D’Annunzio. After his encounter with Marinetti, he joined Futurism and collaborated with Lacerba, La Voce and Poesia. He moved to Milan and later to Rome, where he obtained a position at the Ministry of Popular Culture and wrote a poem in praise of Mussolini. After the death of his son, he turned towards a more intimate and elegiac style. He also directed the literary review Il Sestante Letterario.
