Ellen Auerbach

Germany (1902—2004)
Auerbach studied with Peterhans School and when he relocated to Dessau, she took over his studio to open the new photography studio called ‘rings + pit’ with Grete Stern. Both artists were influenced by Constructivism and Surrealism. In 1933 she won the International exhibition in Brussels. Forced to leave the country after the Nazis rise, Auerbach moved to US and became US citizen in 1942.
