Ilarie Voronca

Romania (1903—1946)
Born Marcus Eduard, Voronca started his career as a poet in 1922 in the magazine Sburătorul but soon after he joined the modernist movement and contributed to Vinea’s and Janko’s modernist literary magazine Contimporanul,. He also conrtibuted to the reviews Punct and Integral. He moved to Paris in 1927, where he published this first collections of poems Colomba. He joined the avant-garde Parisian community and often collaborated with artists such as Brâncuși, Chagall, Tzara and Delaunay.
