Lotte Gerson-Collein

Germany (1905—1995)

Born in Essen, Lotte Gerson studied at the Bauhaus Dessau from 1927, initially attending the preliminary course before turning to architecture. She also devoted herself to photography, documenting life at the Bauhaus while exploring the light and contrasts of simple objects. In 1931 she married Edmund Collein, a fellow Bauhaus student who went on to become an architect.
