Štefan Bednár

Slovakia (1909—1976)
After studying applied arts in Prague, Bednár started to paint in Prague and later in Paris. He joined the SNP (Slovak National Uprising) movement and directed its magazine Nové slovo. He created series of political inspired graphic illustrations, leaflets, posters and etchings. He also continued to paint bringing political and social themes into his artworks.
