Velimir Khlebnikov

Russia (1885—1922)
Poet and play writer, Khlebnikov joined the artistic group of Hylaea, together with Mayakovsky and Burlyuk. In his prolific artistic career he created a style that later led to Futurism. He published A slap in the face of public taste in 1912 and many poems such as the Grasshopper. He authored Selected Poems with Postscript was published with Malevich's and Filonov’s illustrations. He experimented with neologism, symbolism and Cyrillic characters and along Kruchenykh he developed the zaum.
