Helen Saunders

UK (1885—1963)
London born Saunders studied at the Slade School of Art and first exhibited at the Whitechapel Gallery in 1914. The following year she was one of the artists signing the Vorticism manifesto, published on BLAST magazine. She also contributed to the London group exhibition and produced her iconic Abstract Multicoloured Design. From 1920s onwards she began to take distance from Vorticism and abstract art to explore a more realistic and figurative approach.
