Óscar Domínguez

Spain (1906—1957)
Originally from Tenerife, he moved to Paris to look after his father’s business. Here he met Tanguy and Picasso and became a member of Surrealism. He started to use Decalcomania technique on various materials. In 1957 he committed suicide, few days before his 51st birthday, in the same way as shown 26 years earlier in his self portrait.
