Werner David Feist
Germany (1909—1998)Feist studied at the Bauhaus Dessau with Josef Albers, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Joost Schmidt, and enrolled in the newly established photography workshop, where he became Walter Peterhans’ assistant. He exhibited at the FiFo (Film und Foto) exhibition and later worked as a graphic designer and photographer in Prague. After fleeing Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939, he settled in the UK, where he worked for a publishing company. In 1951 he moved to Canada, where he worked as an art director and taught design history.
